My grandson Tyler who recently turned 10 years old has had allergies for awhile now, but recently in the last year or so was told he has asthma too. The seasonal allergies are usually in the spring. Lavender essential oil as well as the R.C. blend does help with that.
I think one reason if not THE reason Tyler developed allergies is because he was given antibiotics just hours after his birth. He was having some labored breathing and they weren't sure if he swallowed any meconium from the first bowel movement. If you know anything about antibiotics and what they do to your intestinal tract, you know that it is not good. It destroys your good bacteria. Furthermore, a newborns immune system is not completely developed yet and about 70-80% of your immunity is dependent on the health of the digestive system. So then we are more susceptible to things like allergies and asthma.
He developed this chronic cough awhile back that he could not seem to shake. He did not display other typical symptoms of asthma like shortness of breath, chest tightness, pain or pressure. A little wheezing only when he coughed a lot. He did not cough at night and that is when most people do a lot of coughing. I am not totally convinced that he has asthma because other things such as viruses can cause all that coughing, but never the less, that is what the doctor wants to say it is.
Therefore he was put on an inhaler for 2 weeks, two puffs morning and night. Then the night dose was eliminated and the morning dose was continued for another week. Then it was stopped altogether. The inhaler never stopped him from coughing completely. It was still there. In my humble opinion, it did not help much. Asthma is an auto-immune problem. Have you read the side-effects of those inhalers? One is that they suppress the immune system. Humm… Is it worth is when there are other options?
Tyler never really had what would be called an asthma attack. I have watched people have them and they are terrible! Not to say that he would not ever have one if he really has asthma.
So now is the time to intervene with the natural essential oils. Everyone that knows me knows I am an avid Young Living Oils user and have the experiences to prove it works. Sometimes people can scare you into thinking that unless you take pharmaceutical drugs you won't get better. Or that these plant medicines are "snake oils." Now I am not saying that we should never take drugs. Sometimes, it can't be avoided. Especially in emergency situations. But the truth is that more and more people are searching for natural answers to health problems because allopathic medicine is not helping them. We need to start listening to our body and take charge of our own health. People need to know they have options!
I don't have any initials behind my name to claim that I have the right to diagnose or prescribe. I only report to you what has worked for me and my family.
So here is what we did for Tyler…
We started giving him about 4 drops of lemon and 3 drops of frankincense and 2 drops of Copaiba in a little Young Living Agave. We stirred it with a toothpick in the spoon so he didn't get the taste of the essential oils sitting on top of the agave. This was taken morning and night. More often if we could get it in. Warning: If the essential oil you are using has a warning label on it, Do Not Ingest. Only Young Living Essential Oils are to be taken internally!
And guess what?? No more coughing! It took a few days before the coughing totally stopped… but it did!
Tyler also now uses his natural inhaler. He chose R.C. for that. He uses it whenever he feels allergy symptoms coming on. Lavender and R.C. applied to the pads of the feet, back and chest also help. If you use essential oils on babies, young children or the elderly you will want to dilute before application.
Tyler smelling his natural inhaler before getting ready for school… (he still looks a little sleepy)!
Tyler also drinks Ningxia Red daily. This helps strengthen the immune system and is a natural anti-inflammatory, which is important to stay healthy. It is nutrient rich and helps fill in the nutritional gaps especially in children and the elderly.
The other supplement Tyler takes is the KidScents™ MightyZyme which is an all-natural, vegetarian product int he form of chewable tablets designed to help children combat the negative effects of enzyme depletion.mIt addresses each of the digestive needs of growing bodies and assist normal digestion of foods, including proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Enzymes are very important for everyone because every body function depends on them.
Try these suggestions and let me know how they work for you!
